Trilayer PP/PE/PP
Celgard's proprietary trilayer technology is a key feature which differentiates Celgard® battery separators from those manufactured by other battery separator suppliers. This unique process capability allows Celgard to combine the inherent benefits of polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) membranes into a single flat-sheet lithium battery separator.
Features of Celgard® PP/PE/PP Trilayer Separators:
· Produced using a dry-stretch manufacturing process
· Excellent resistance to acids, bases, and most chemicals
· Uniform pore structure with high chemical and thermal stability
· Zero TD shrinkage for reduced internal shorting and improved high temperature dimensional stability
· PP outer layers that provide oxidation resistance for excellent cycling & trickle charge performance
· PE inner layer that provides high-speed shutdown capability
